A Text Packed with Lyrical Beauty on the Theme of Personal and Artistic Honesty
"We have to destroy theatre or live in theatre!," Lorca exclaims in this work, with which he aspired to embark on a new path. And this is precisely what the play is about: having the courage to break with the past, with inertia, with tradition and with repression - both at an artistic and an emotional level - in order to do what you really want to do.
El público, written in 1929-30, talks about the theatre and the question of desire, based on a game in which fiction and reality intermingle, a masquerade in which identities are constantly changing and evolving, ceaselessly pursuing the ideas of authenticity, honesty and freedom.
Through the auspices of the theatre director, Àlex Rigola, and an extensive cast, this work provides an ideal opportunity to delve into the indomitable imagination of the poet from Granada.
