"The Dreams of My Cousin Aurelia..." is the piece that Federico García Lorca was working on in the summer of 1936 when a series of ill-fated events took his life. It is curious that at that very moment he should return to his childhood with this tale of Granada featuring strong autobiographical reminiscences, with one of the characters being "the boy, Federico".
This is a work of shared fantasy, one that features one of the most hopeful female characters in Lorca's theatre, Cousin Aurelia.
Based on the implementation of an Exploration Workshop, Miguel Cubero, an actor who forms part of the cast at La Abadía, has created a show that is based on "My Cousin Aurelia" whilst bringing into play motifs taken from other unfinished texts, effectively evoking the last few months of the poet's life. The production features live music, which is characterised by the fragility of the unfinished.
