Synopsis

Through the auspices of La Abadía, our theatre will be transformed to host the staging of a piece that is unparalleled in the history of Spanish theatre: "El Auto de los Reyes Magos". This is the only play dating from the twelfth century written entirely in the Spanish tongue. Its plot offers us a different perspective of the extremely well-known events that make up the Nativity, which provides the foundation for a celebration that is as popular today as ever.

Our show, based on this Christmas story, incorporates the theatrical forms of expression that Ana Zamora has developed throughout her career with the theatre group, Nao d'amores: acting, puppet theatre and live musical performance. All this, based on the simple and naïf approach that characterised the much-acclaimed "Misterio del Cristo de los Gascones" and featuring sets based on works by Gil Vicente.
